Taplio review

Taplio is a capable LinkedIn workbench, but the plan worth buying costs $69 a month and the one that sells it costs $199

An all-in-one LinkedIn tool: post ideas, AI drafting, scheduling, analytics and, on the top plan, automated outreach

The short answer

Taplio puts everything a LinkedIn creator does in one app: a library of 5M+ posts for ideas, AI drafting trained on your writing, scheduling, analytics and engagement tools. Starter at $39 a month has no AI at all, so most people end up on Growth at $69. The lead database and auto-DMs sit on Pro at $199, and they are also the features that carry real LinkedIn account risk.

Pick it if

  • LinkedIn is your main growth channel and you want ideas, drafting, scheduling and analytics in one place.
  • You struggle with what to post and would use a searchable library of high-performing LinkedIn posts every week.
  • You are a consultant or founder who wants to reply to comments and engage with target accounts' posts from one feed.
  • You ghostwrite for LinkedIn creators and want writer and client roles with shared analytics on a team plan.

Skip it if

  • You post on X, Threads or Bluesky as much as LinkedIn; Taplio is LinkedIn only.
  • You only need scheduling; Starter at $39 a month is a lot for a scheduler with no AI.
  • Your LinkedIn account is too valuable to risk on browser-extension automation such as auto-DMs and auto-connection requests.
  • You already write well and have a system; you would be paying mostly for ideas and AI you do not need.

What Taplio actually is

Taplio is a LinkedIn-only growth tool. It covers four jobs: finding ideas (a library of 5M+ viral posts plus AI idea suggestions), writing (a post generator, carousel generator and draft improver that are calibrated to your past posts), scheduling with a kanban board and a posting calendar, and engagement, which means replying to comments, commenting on curated feeds and tracking your stats.

It connects to LinkedIn through a free Chrome extension called Taplio Connect, which reads the LinkedIn session in your browser. Taplio is owned by lempire, the company behind lemlist, alongside the X tool Tweet Hunter, so it is not an independent startup. It is an actively developed one: Taplio now has an API, an MCP server and an official Claude connector.

Which plan you actually need

The plans are tiered by AI and automation, not by accounts. Starter at $39 a month ($32 billed yearly) gives you the idea library, scheduling, analytics and collaboration with writers, but the comparison table shows no AI credits and no comment credits at all. If you came for the AI drafting, Starter is the wrong plan.

Growth at $69 a month ($49 yearly) is the real starting point: 250 AI credits and 500 comment credits a month, Zapier, organization management, contact lists and 2-day auto-reply monitoring. Pro at $199 a month ($149 yearly) makes AI and comments unlimited and adds the outreach set: the lead database, auto-DMs, bulk DMs, auto and bulk connection requests, and importing likers and commenters from any post.

The automation question

LinkedIn's help center is blunt: it does not permit third-party software, browser extensions or bots that automate activity on the site, and members who use them risk restriction or closure. Taplio's pricing page FAQ says the tool is safe because it behaves like a real user. Both statements can be true for scheduling and drafting, which are low-key. They sit less comfortably with auto-DMs, bulk connection requests and auto-replies.

The risk is concentrated on Pro, which is the plan whose headline is lead outreach. Public reviews on Trustpilot include a user whose account was flagged and who had to get it restored. If your LinkedIn profile is your business, use Taplio for writing, scheduling and analytics, and keep any automation slow and deliberate.

Value for money

At $49 to $69 a month, Taplio costs several times what a general scheduler does. What you get for that is the idea library and the AI tuned to your voice, and those are worth it only if you use them weekly. For a founder whose pipeline genuinely comes from LinkedIn, saving two or three hours a week of staring at a blank draft pays for Growth easily. For someone posting twice a month, it does not.

What it gets right

  • Everything for LinkedIn in one app: ideas, drafting, scheduling, analytics, comment replies and engagement feeds.
  • The 5M+ post inspiration library is genuinely useful for anyone who stalls on what to write.
  • AI drafting is calibrated on your existing posts during onboarding, so first drafts are closer to your voice than a generic chatbot.
  • The 7-day trial unlocks Pro whichever plan you pick, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • API, MCP server and Claude connector let you draft with Claude and push into Taplio.

Where it falls short

  • Starter at $39 a month has no AI credits, so the advertised AI features effectively start at $69.
  • The outreach features on Pro rely on browser-extension automation that LinkedIn's own rules prohibit.
  • LinkedIn only; anyone also posting to X or Threads needs a second tool.
  • Trustpilot reviewers report renewals and post-trial charges they did not expect.
  • Needs a Chromium browser extension to connect, so there is no setting it up on a phone.

Starter $39/mo, or $32/mo billed yearly ($384/year) Scheduling, posting calendar, analytics and monthly stats email, 5M+ inspiration library, drafts, collaboration with writers, auto-comment on your post. No AI or comment credits.
Growth $69/mo, or $49/mo billed yearly ($588/year) Everything in Starter, 250 AI credits and 500 comment credits a month, AI post, image and carousel generation, Zapier, organization management, contact lists, 2-day auto-reply monitoring.
Pro $199/mo, or $149/mo billed yearly Everything in Growth, unlimited AI and comment credits, 90-day auto-reply monitoring, lead database, auto-DMs, bulk DMs, auto and bulk connection requests, import likers and commenters from posts, priority support.

What you will actually pay

A founder or consultant who wants the AI writing pays $49 a month billed yearly ($588) or $69 month to month. Starter only makes sense if you just want scheduling and the idea library. Teams and agencies managing several profiles can ask for a multi-seat discount that the pricing page puts at up to 30%.

Your first week with Taplio

If you sign up today, do these in this order.

  1. Before starting the trial, decide which plan you would keep. The trial gives you Pro for 7 days whichever plan you pick, then bills that plan, so put a reminder in your calendar for day 6.
  2. Log in at app.taplio.com in Chrome or another Chromium browser while signed in to LinkedIn, install Taplio Connect when onboarding asks, and confirm the profile it detects is yours.
  3. Let onboarding finish scanning your profile and past posts. This is what calibrates the AI to your writing, so do it on the account you actually post from.
  4. Spend one session in the inspiration library saving 15 to 20 posts in your niche to a collection, then use them as prompts to draft a week of posts with the post generator.
  5. Schedule those posts on a fixed weekly posting schedule and check the analytics after each one, so by day 7 you know whether the AI drafts perform like your own writing.
  6. Leave auto-DMs, bulk DMs and connection automation off during the trial. If you later turn them on, start slowly and watch for LinkedIn warnings.

Gotchas to know before you commit

  • Starter has no AI credits. The comparison table shows AI and comment features crossed out on Starter, which surprises people who signed up for the AI.
  • The trial is Pro, but the bill is your chosen plan. Features you liked during the trial, like the lead database and auto-DMs, disappear on Growth or Starter.
  • LinkedIn prohibits browser extensions and bots that automate activity. Scheduling and drafting are low risk; auto-DMs and bulk connection requests are the features users report problems with.
  • Some Trustpilot reviewers say renewals were charged without a reminder. If you are on monthly billing and stop posting, cancel in Settings under Billing rather than letting it run.
  • Growth caps AI at 250 credits a month, and smart replies from the Boost extension use one credit each, so heavy commenters can run out mid-month.

Verdict

Taplio is a good tool with awkward packaging. For a founder or consultant whose deals come from LinkedIn and who wants help deciding what to post, Growth at $49 to $69 a month earns its keep through the idea library and voice-tuned drafts. Starter is hard to recommend because it lacks the AI that is the point of the product, and Pro is mostly worth it for outreach automation that LinkedIn does not allow. If you post on several networks or just need scheduling, Typefully does the core job for a fraction of the price.
