Senja review
Senja is the testimonial tool small businesses should start with, as long as you budget for Starter
Collects text and video testimonials, imports reviews from other sites, and displays them as widgets and Walls of Love
The short answer
Senja handles the whole testimonial loop: a form to ask for them, imports from G2, Google, X and dozens of other sources, and embeddable widgets to show them off. The free plan is a real trial at 15 testimonials, but anyone collecting seriously will be on Starter at $29/month within a few weeks. Pro at $59/month is mostly for teams and agencies.
Pick it if
- Your testimonials are scattered across Google reviews, G2, X posts and DMs and you want them in one place.
- You sell courses, coaching, SaaS or services and want video testimonials without chasing people over Zoom.
- You want a testimonial widget on a landing page by the end of the day with no developer.
- You run an agency and want separate projects per client.
Skip it if
- You need verified product reviews for an ecommerce store at scale; a dedicated reviews platform fits that better.
- You are buying Pro mainly for Google star ratings on your own company's testimonials; Google's rules make those ineligible in most cases.
- You only have a handful of testimonials that never change; pasting them into your site costs nothing.
What Senja actually is
Senja is a testimonial manager. It gives you a collection form that customers fill in with text or a recorded video, pulls in reviews you already have from sites like Google, G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Product Hunt, X and LinkedIn, and lets you tag, approve and display them through widgets, a hosted Wall of Love page, or exported images and clips for social posts.
It was started in early 2022 by Wilson Wilson, with Olly Meakings joining as cofounder that summer. Wilson has since left to start another company and Olly runs it. Senja says more than 20,000 customers use it, and it is still an independent product rather than a feature of a larger suite.
Where it earns its price
The import is the part that saves the most time. Most businesses already have good proof, it is just spread across review sites and social posts. Getting all of it into one tagged library, then building a widget filtered to, say, only five-star reviews that mention onboarding, is the job Senja does better than a spreadsheet and a designer.
Video collection is the other reason to pay. Customers record from the form link on their phone or laptop, and on Starter you can export the videos in HD and cut short reels from them for ads. Starter also adds Spin the Wheel, a reward step that Senja says can double collection, plus custom domains, your own branding, autosync from other sources, Zapier and the API.
The plan math
The free plan is better described as a 15-testimonial trial. Once you pass 15, new ones are hidden until you upgrade, your widgets carry Senja branding, and video exports are SD only. It is fine for deciding whether you like the product, and not much more.
Starter at $29/month is the plan for nearly everyone: unlimited testimonials, three forms, one project and two seats. Pro at $59/month adds five projects, five seats, unlimited forms, automatic translation into 20 languages and rich snippets. Extra projects are $10/month and extra seats $5/month on Pro, which is how agency bills grow.
The rich snippets caveat
Pro's rich snippets feature gives you code to paste into your site's head so Google can show star ratings. Senja's own help article does not mention Google's self-serving reviews rule: pages that use Organization or LocalBusiness review markup about the business itself are not eligible for star results. Stars can still appear for eligible types such as a Product or Software App page, but if you are upgrading to Pro mainly to put stars next to your company's search result, expect to be disappointed.
What it gets right
- Imports from dozens of review sites and social platforms, so existing proof is usable on day one.
- Text and video collection from one shareable form, with follow-up invites built in.
- Unlimited widgets and Walls of Love even on the free plan, with 20+ templates.
- Starter at $29/month removes the testimonial cap and adds custom domains and your own branding.
- Exports on every plan, so you are not locked in.
Where it falls short
- The free plan stops showing new testimonials after 15, so it is a trial in practice.
- Rich snippets are Pro-only and Google will not show stars for most self-serving business testimonials.
- Starter is limited to one project and two seats, which pushes small agencies to Pro quickly.
- Auto-import from other platforms needs a paid plan.
Senja pricing
Checked October 2026. Prices change, so confirm on Senja's pricing page before you buy.
Free option: Up to 15 text and video testimonials, collection forms, invites with follow-ups, imports, testimonial analysis, unlimited widgets and Walls of Love with Senja branding, and SD video exports. Testimonials beyond 15 are hidden until you upgrade.
What you will actually pay
A single business pays $29/month on Starter, or less on yearly billing, which gives two months free. An agency with seven clients would be on Pro at $59 plus two extra projects at $10 each, so $79/month before any extra seats.
Your first week with Senja
If you sign up today, do these in this order.
- Before writing any requests, import what you already have: connect your Google Business profile, G2 or Capterra listing, and paste in links to the best X or LinkedIn posts about you.
- Tag everything as it comes in (by product, use case or customer type). Widgets filter by tag, so this is what makes them useful later.
- Edit the default collection form: rewrite the prompts into two or three specific questions, and decide whether to ask for video.
- Send the form to 10 to 20 of your happiest customers through Senja's invites so follow-ups go out automatically.
- Build one widget filtered to your strongest tag and embed it next to the pricing or signup button, using the Share tab's embed code in your site builder's custom HTML block.
- Publish a Wall of Love, fill in its SEO title and description under Design, and link to it from your site footer.
Gotchas to know before you commit
- Past 15 testimonials on the free plan, new ones are collected but hidden until you upgrade.
- Downgrading drops you to Free after the billing period plus a 10-day grace period; download HD videos first, since Free exports SD only.
- Rich snippets need Pro and are subject to Google's self-serving reviews rule, so stars on your own company's pages are unlikely.
- Starter includes only three forms. If you want separate forms per product or language, budget for Pro.
- Coupon codes from deal sites are not Senja's and will not work; the only standing discounts are yearly billing and nonprofits.
Verdict
Senja is the most complete testimonial tool for a small business or creator, and Starter at $29/month is fair for what it replaces. Treat the free plan as a trial, buy Starter once you pass 15 testimonials, and only move to Pro when you need more seats, projects or translation. Do not buy Pro for search stars on company testimonials.
